At benchmarked, we believe the future will be shaped—not merely inherited. Today, we’re proud to unveil Cryptera, a new research and development company dedicated to building resilient, censorship-resistant encryption systems for the age of AI, cyberwarfare, and quantum disruption.
Why Cryptera, and Why Now?
As artificial intelligence accelerates the centralization of data, the automation of decisions, and the expansion of digital surveillance, the trust model of our online world is under attack. Simultaneously, quantum computing threatens to render today’s encryption obsolete. In this dual-front war on digital sovereignty, silicon becomes the battlefield—and encryption, the last defense.
Cryptera engineers systems of sovereignty that power the brave new world—where the stakes are nothing less than freedom, security, and control.
The Vision: Infrastructure for the Free, the solutions that are Post-Quantum-ready
Cryptera isn’t just about defense. It’s about building a foundational layer of trust for the post-internet, post-centralization world. We’re designing solutions that allow users and machines to connect, communicate, and transact—securely and independently of traditional internet infrastructure.

Cryptera is:
- Post-Quantum Ready Implementing FIPS-203 compliant ML-KEM (CRYSTALS-Kyber) in hybrid cryptographic systems combining ECDH with PQC algorithms to resist future quantum attacks.
- Hybrid & Modular Delivering encryption architectures that blend classical cryptography with post-quantum methods for adaptable security.
- Critical Use-Case Focused Designed for governments, defense, IoT, machine-to-machine communication, and secure civilian infrastructure.
- FIPS-Compliant With proven deployment in systems like Spixi, our secure messaging app, Cryptera is already protecting real-world data with tomorrow’s standards.
- Future-Ready We are building with EuroQCI compatibility and quantum-safe standards in mind—bridging today’s protocols with the infrastructure of tomorrow.
Why It Matters
Encryption is no longer a technical detail—it is the linchpin of freedom in the digital world. As centralized systems become increasingly opaque, manipulative, or compromised, sovereign systems become a necessity, not a luxury.
Cryptera exists to ensure that in a world defined by exponential AI and invisible cyber conflicts, sovereignty is not surrendered—but engineered.
Quantum Cybersecurity Development
Current Capabilities
We have proactively integrated post-quantum cryptography into our core technologies. Specifically, we’ve implemented the FIPS-203 compliant ML-KEM (the official name of CRYSTALS-Kyber) and deployed a hybrid approach combining Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman (ECDH) with ML-KEM for secure handshakes within our Spixi secure messaging application and other streaming protocols. The implementation is currently available in Spixi, providing immediate protection against potential quantum attacks on key exchange. Data encryption currently utilizes AES and ChaCha20-Poly1305, providing a strong foundation for layered security. This positions us ahead of many potential competitors and demonstrates a commitment to future-proof security.
Implementation & Know-How
- PQC Integration Expertise: We can assist in integrating NIST-standardized PQC algorithms (like CRYSTALS-Kyber and CRYSTALS-Dilithium) into existing systems. Our experience with hybrid cryptography allows for a smooth transition, ensuring compatibility during the shift to quantum-safe standards.
- Module Lattice-based Key Encapsulation Mechanism (ML-KEM) Expertise: We can provide in-depth knowledge and support for the implementation and optimization of ML-KEM, a crucial component of post-quantum security.
- EuroQCI Compatibility: We can contribute to ensuring solutions are compatible with the developing EuroQCI network, aligning with EU infrastructure requirements.
- Hybrid Cryptography Solutions: We can design and implement hybrid systems combining classical and PQC algorithms, offering a robust and adaptable security architecture.
- FIPS Compliance: We possess practical experience with the implementation and deployment of FIPS 203 compliant algorithms, which is a significant advantage for projects requiring certification.
We are actively exploring the integration of additional PQC algorithms and technologies to further enhance our security posture.
